COMPARE Project Simple vs monday dev

monday dev gives you boards. Project Simple gives you the operating model.

monday dev brings colorful, flexible boards to engineering. Project Simple brings a complete delivery model — quality discipline, team health and AI forecasting built on real sprint data.

Board-based work platform

monday dev

Built on monday.com’s flexible boards, adding sprints, roadmaps and IDE extensions for development teams.

VS

Product Operating Model for AI-DLC

Project Simple

Built to run the whole lifecycle — goals, delivery, quality and forecasting — for every team on the project, out of the box.

The short version

Different tools for different jobs. Here’s the honest answer.

Choose monday dev if…

your company already runs on monday.com and you want development work on the same board-based platform.

Choose Project Simple if…

you want a prescriptive delivery model instead of boards to configure, with quality and forecasting built in.

Teams switch when…

boards multiply, automations get fragile, and leaders still can’t get a straight answer on release dates.

Where monday dev shines

  • Approachable boards that business teams already know
  • Sprints, roadmaps and an AI sprint summary for dev teams
  • IDE extensions for VS Code and Cursor

Where teams hit a wall

  • Boards are built to be configured — process is up to you
  • Quality gates and root-cause analysis aren’t part of the model
  • Delivery forecasting isn’t a core feature
  • Separate monday products per department

FAQ

Questions teams ask before switching

Will it connect to the rest of our business tools?

Yes. Project Simple integrates with standard tools and offers APIs for anything else, and we help you set up integrations during the switch.

How does AI pricing work?

We don’t charge per token or per AI action. AI capabilities come with the Enterprise plan, and you connect your own provider’s API keys — OpenAI, Anthropic or another — and pay them directly.

Can Project Simple run in our own environment?

Yes. Choose an isolated multi-tenant setup, a dedicated instance in your own AWS or GCP account, or an on-prem deployment in your private cloud or data center.
